LaVision was founded in Göttingen in 1989 by scientists from the Max Planck Institute für Strömungsforschung and the Laser Laboratorium.
Since its foundation, LaVision has been successful in the development and implementation of imaging (laser) measurement technology. This universally applicable cross-sectional technology has strong applications in the fields of flow measurement technology (aerodynamics, microfluidics), combustion (efficient energy generation, process industry) as well as in spray and particle diagnostics and process engineering. This product range has been expanded to include camera-based measuring systems for surface deformation analysis, simple flow visualization (hydrogen technology, clean rooms) and other systems for industrial process control.
Our measuring systems measure without contact with high temporal and spatial resolution and are used worldwide in research and development laboratories and in industry. The LaVision team has many years of in-depth expertise in the fields of laser and camera technology, optical metrology, spectroscopy and digital image processing and cooperates successfully with leading research institutions in Germany and abroad. LaVision is represented worldwide by subsidiaries or agencies.
We offer our customers both application-specific individual solutions and series products based on a modular system that can be modified or expanded as required. In addition to the hardware, our comprehensive system approach is also based on the DaVis software, which is specialized and optimized for the respective measurement method and is constantly being further developed by our in-house experts. Innovative algorithms ensure the best possible quality of results and precision of measurements, as well as a wide range of displays in various file formats.
LaVision offers a comprehensive portfolio of imaging measurement technology and measurement services for research, product development and process control. With our innovative optical measurement systems, LaVision has made a name for itself with users from a wide range of disciplines. In the automotive and aviation industries, for pharmaceutical and semiconductor manufacturers and in energy generation from conventional and alternative fuels, our multi-parameter laser imaging systems make a decisive contribution to process optimization and resource conservation. Flames can be examined in-situ with regard to their temperature distribution, gas composition and emission formation and efficiency-relevant combustion data can be optically recorded. Three-dimensional flow profiles from microfluidics to wind tunnels are measured with the highest temporal and spatial resolution. In process engineering, our imaging systems are used to quantitatively visualize mixing and spraying processes, among other things. Material testing processes benefit from our high-precision camera measurement systems for deformation and stress analysis.
For process and quality control applications, such as flow monitoring in clean rooms in the pharmaceutical industry or production monitoring of spray nozzles, our inline measurement systems contribute to significantly higher product quality.
To solve individual metrological problems, our highly qualified team offers contract measurements and successfully carries them out in close consultation with our customers.
The primary mission of the company is to provide photonic measurement solutions to the scientific and industrial markets. LaVision is involved in an ongoing process of innovation and development of (laser) imaging systems, smart optical sensors, measurement technologies and software tools.
The company is customer focused and offers quality products that are user-friendly, reliable, and application specific. LaVision guarantees system performance, friendly and attentive customer support, competent and highly motivated employees and ultimately customer satisfaction.
As these values are very important to us, we have anchored them in our mission statement.
