German chancellor Dr. Angela Merkel visited the Laser Laboratory Goettingen
On 24th October 2007 Dr. Angela Merkel got an impression about some innovative research projects when visiting the Laser Laboratory Goettingen e.V., a cooperation partner of LaVision.
During her visit LaVision's Fiber Optical Spark Plug Sensor was presented to her, which allows crank angle resolved measurement of the fuel and exhaust gas concentration directly in the combustion chamber of internal combustion engines (see picture).
Mrs. Merkel made her PhD in physical chemistry and worked at the Academy of Sciences in Berlin on studies about fuel air mixture prior to her political career. She was impressed by LaVision's innovation made in optical diagnostics.
